The Scarecrow 4.5 L'Automne When all the cows were sleeping
And the sun had gone to bed,
Up jumped the scarecrow,
And this is what he said:
"I'm a dingle dangle scarecrow
With a flippy floppy hat.
I can shake my hands like this,
And shake my feet like that."L'aube est moins claire,
L'air moins chaud,
Le ciel moins pur;
Les longs jours sont passés,

Avec sa bise et son brouillard,
Et l'été qui s'enfuit
Est un ami qui part.

Trees 6.5 Chevalure I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the sweet earth's flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.J'ai un cheval qui galope
Souple comme une antilope;
Un beau cheval qui prend l'air
Dans mon pré imaginaire.
Sur le chemin de l'école
Avec moi il caracolait.
Nos crinères s'enlacent
Un trop court moment hélas!
Et quand tombent mes paupières
Je deviens son écuyère
Je lui dis: Allons, pleins gaz!
Du coup, il devient Pégase.

O Canada Ô Canada! O Canada! Where pines and maples grow.
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow.
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western sea.
Thou land of hope for all who toil!
Thou True North, strong and free!
God keep our land glorious and free.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.Ô Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,
Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!
Car ton bras sait porter l'épée
Il sait porter la croix!
Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brilliants exploits.

The Maple Leaf Forever Toujours, La feuille d'Erable O, land of blue unending skies,
Mountains strong and sparkling snow,
A scent of freedom in the wind,
O'er the emerald fields below.
To thee we brought our hopes, our dreams,
For thee we stand together,
Our land of peace, where proudly flies,
The Maple Leaf forever.
Long may it wave, and grace our own,
Blue skies and stormy weather,
Within my heart, above my home,
The Maple Leaf forever!Sur mers sauvages ou glaciers durs.
Tant d'héros se sont suivis,
En conquérant la peur, le froid.
Et les tempêtes de leurs vies.
Et tant de braves, rouges ou blancs,
Reposent ici ensemble,
De noble sang, de tant de neige,
Est née la feuille d'érable.
Sur nos montagnes, dans nos prairies,
À travers temps et sable,
Aimons toujours la fleur de lys,
Toujours, la feuille d'érable.

NOTE: Poster must illustrate a benefit (or benefits) to mankind and will be judged on originality of ideas as well as quality of the art. Posters that do not describe or show a benefit will not be eligible for prize money.
Benefits of Bees: Bees are necessary to cross pollinate many plants. Without cross pollination, we would be unable to produce large crops of fruit (apples, pears, peaches, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, blueberries etc.) Bees also cross pollinate many farm crops and greatly increase their yield (clover, canola, soybeans, etc). Many home garden vegetables also depend on bees for pollination (beans, cucumbers, pumpkins, squash, currants, melons, etc). Although honey bees are mainly kept for the honey and wax they produce, their chief benefit to us is pollination. Many wild bees also pollinate our crops (bumblebees, leaf cutter bees, etc). Honey bees are used to gather pollen for food and propolis (a resinous substance from plants) which is used by bees to seal up cracks, etc, in their home. Propolis is used by humans for medicinal purposes. Bee sting venom is also used for medicinal purposes.
